domestic fabrics Incorporated in December 1955 as domestic lace, the company began manufacturing with four pre-World War II warp-knitting machines in a small rented factory building in Englewood, New Jersey. By 1958, the company had built it's own manufacturing facilities with over 100 newer knitting machines and had become the world's largest manufacturer of double-needle warp-knitted fabrics. In May of 1969, a pilot operation under the name domestic manufacturing was opened in Kinston, North Carolina. domestic's Kinston facilities now occupy several buildings with over 120,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehousing space.
