Dye/Finishing

Gaston County pressure jets The wet room is equipped with specially modified H series Gaston County pressure jets. These machines are capable of significant bulking of most fabric constructions, imparting a loftier, more natural feeling hand. The batch process allows for rapid change in processed products. All of the jets are computer controlled and can be managed from a central computer system.

4 roll extractor pad The wet processing area is also equipped with a 4 roll extractor pad. The finishes that can be applied range from simple softeners to more complex chemistry flammability retardants. The full immersion pad applies a consistent amount of finish edge to edge, as well as piece to piece and lot to lot.

Tumble Dryers Automatic tumble dryers complete the wet room equipment. The machines are single roll capacity, allowing for maximum bulk and shrinkage control. Accurate controls allow for excellent repeatability.

No silicones, dyestuffs, resin finishes, or chlorine are present in the wet processing area or anywhere else in the facility. Attention to housekeeping and detail contribute to outstanding performance in the processing of "Prepare For Garment Dye" products.

Continous belt relaxation dryer The continuous belt relaxation dryer is one of the key components in producing low shrinkage fabrics. The three tier routing exposes the fabric to 150 feet of drying length, allowing for low temperature, long duration drying. Additionally, relaxation beater mechanisms have been installed to further mechanically relax the fabric while it is being dried. Electronic control systems allow for consistent heat and duration.

Gear driven goods nappers The gear driven knit goods nappers are capable of producing consistent, high loft fabrics with minimal distortion to the basic structure. The turning bar system allows tubular fabrics to be napped on both sides during the same pass, ensuring consistent fabric quality. Setting different machines for breaking, napping and finish napping keeps settings exactly from day to day. The wide napping area also accommodates open width fabric as well as tubular goods.

Spiral revolver shearing Spiral revolver shearing is the most precise method for shearing. The revolver and blade remain in constant alignment to ensure side to side consistency. The drive mechanics of the machine prevent the fabric from being pulled down during operation resulting in a fabric that needs a minimal amount of reconstructing during the framing process. This machine is used for break shearing as well as tip shearing.

Gullwing compactor The Gullwing compactor is recognized as the industries' leading mechanical compression machine. The compactor will reduce shrinkage on tubular fleece, jersey, doubleknit and fancy constructions to minimal levels. Compacting also levels out manufacturing imparted deviations resulting in very consistent lots. The special edge drive devices are especially effective in preventing edge lines or selvage creases. The spreader arrangement eliminates width deviations. Fabric may be put up on rolls or precision flatfolded, resulting in even greater shrinkage control.

Open width frames The open width frames are resistance and radiation heated preventing the possibility of gas yellowing and providing a very consistent heat source. All framing is done on dry fabric to ensure complete heat setting. Overfeed and width controls maintain fabric quality. Package mechanisms are set up independent of the frame drive so that the fabric may be rolled up with a minimal amount of tension.
