Wick A'Way® is a composite fabric with an integrated thermal layer.
The soft cotton jersey side is hydrophilic. The other side, of thermal
polyester, is hydrophobic. And therein lies the difference between Wick A'Way® and most other moisture
management fabrics. In Wick A Way®, the thermal side is against the skin; the
wicked moisture is transferred away from that layer and into the outer layer.
The result is that the fabric next to the skin goes from wet and
uncomfortable to dry and soft in an astonishing three minutes. Whats more, unlike many other moisture control fabrics, ours is carefully
engineered so that each side is thoroughly integrated with the other side and
perfectly balanced with the other side. So it looks great, drapes beautifully
and doesn't cling.
All of which means that anyone using an item made from our Wick A'Way®
fabric is warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
HEALTHCARE APPLICATIONS. Healthcare products made of Wick A'Way® carry body fluids and
moisture away from the patient's skin for increased comfort. Products that are ideal for Wick A Way® include bedding items such as sheets
and blankets, as well as hospital sleepwear and examining gowns.
SPORTS CLOTHING APPLICATIONS. During exercise, skin temperature rises and the body responds with
increased perspiration. With pure cotton which we all used to wear and
other conventional fabrics, the moisture is trapped between the skin and
clothing, further raising body temperature and increasing perspiration even
more.
On hot days, wearers are uncomfortable and tire more easily. On cold days,
when the wind blows, the moisture near the skin turns cold and clammy.
Garments made with Wick A'Way®, on the other hand, transport moisture away
from the body to the outer layer of the fabric where it can quickly evaporate.
And the fabric next to the skin is left dry, lightweight and comfortable to
wear.
