A unique construction makes it superior.
This is not the only moisture control fabric on the market.
Just the best.
As proof, consider the construction. Many of the others are
a two-ply fabric; yarns from each side are visibly tied
to the other side. Some are a bulky three-ply. And still others
are chemically treated and therefore not permanent.
Our knitted wicking fabric, however, is so different and
so innovative, we were awarded a patent on the fabric construction.
WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT MAKES IT
BETTER.
Wick AWay® is a composite fabric with an integrated
thermal layer. The soft cotton jersey side is hydrophilic.
The other side, of thermal polyester, is hydrophobic.
And therein lies the difference between Wick AWay® and
most other moisture management fabrics. In Wick AWay®,
the thermal side is against the skin; the wicked moisture
is transferred away from that layer and into the outer layer.
The result is that the fabric next to the skin goes from
wet and uncomfortable to dry and soft in an astonishing three
minutes.
Whats more, unlike many other moisture control fabrics,
ours is carefully engineered so that each side is thoroughly
integrated with the other side and perfectly balanced with
the other side. So it looks great, drapes beautifully and
doesnt cling.
All of which means that anyone using an item made from our
Wick AWay® fabric is warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
HEALTHCARE APPLICATIONS.
Healthcare products made of Wick AWay® carry
body fluids and moisture away from the patients skin
for increased comfort.
Products that are ideal for Wick AWay® include bedding
items such as sheets and blankets, as well as hospital sleepwear
and examining gowns.
SPORTS CLOTHING APPLICATIONS.
During exercise, skin temperature rises and the
body responds with increased perspiration. With pure cotton
which we all used to wear and other conventional
fabrics, the moisture is trapped between the skin and clothing,
further raising body temperature and increasing perspiration
even more.
On hot days, wearers are uncomfortable and tire more easily.
On cold days, when the wind blows, the moisture near the skin
turns cold and clammy.
Garments made with Wick AWay®, on the other hand, transport
moisture away from the body to the outer layer of the fabric
where it can quickly evaporate.
And the fabric next to the skin is left dry, lightweight
and comfortable to wear.
